Filters

Filters placed in specific areas of your septic system will act as a filtration device and help prevent solids from leaving the septic tank and entering your drain field.  Excessive discharge of solids to the drain field can cause it to plug and lose efficiency in treatment and dispersal of the normal liquid flow.  If the problem persists, the drain field may need to be replaced which can be a costly expense.

GRAVITY SYSTEM FILTERS:

One item available is the brush filter for gravity systems.  These easy to install filters are installed in the outlet baffle of your main septic tank.  Once inserted, it acts as an excellent filtration for solids, including toilet paper, hair, lint, etc.  The brush filter is available in 4", 6", 7" or 8" sizes.  It is durable enough to be washed out during your septic pump out and re-used or economical enough to be disposable if re-use is not recommended.  Click here to see our full line of brush filters.

FILTERS FOR PRESSURE DOSED SYSTEMS:

Placing an effluent filter just before entering the forced main of the pressurized septic system is a simple solution to preventing solids from entering your drain field. The pressure filter installs by simply threading onto the discharge port of any effluent pump, thereby, filtering out contaminants before they enter the distribution system or drain field.  Read more about filters for pressurized septic systems for both residential and commercial applications.

WASHING MACHINE FILTERS:

Washing machine filters trap lint from fibers in your clothes, pet hair and other items that would otherwise wind up in your septic field.  How much lint is in your dryer vent?  Imagine how much is going out to your septic tank and field.  Install a washing machine filter and trap those items before they make their way to your septic field and start to cause problems.  Read more on this topic.
